Virtual reality experience to simulate migraine effects
We have created a relaxing 360 experience of a trip between Paris and Spain where suddenly a migraine attack begins;
starting with the appearance of an aura, loss of visual field and all ears and smells disturb the user.
We have superimposed different sound effects to generate greater auditory chaos, highlighting the stress suffered by a migraine patient in their daily lives and the difficulty of coping with the disease.
Migraine is a very intense type of headache that is caused by certain triggers. There is a percentage of individuals who usually feel migraine symptoms upon waking up. Some of the causes of this morning migraine are:
-Bruxism: This is a sleep disorder in which the muscles involved in chewing move involuntarily and periodically. This causes pain in the head, face and jaw and can become a migraine trigger.
-Myofascial Syndrome: It is a disorder where painful and sensitive areas, called trigger points, are present. Pressing on these areas can also cause severe pain and be a factor in causing migraine.
-Obstructive sleep apnea: In this type of apnea, the person suffers a temporary blockage of the upper airway, so that air does not enter and an exaggerated effort is made to breathe. Sleep is disrupted with this condition and oxygen levels decrease, which is associated with migraine upon awakening.
-Sleep disturbances: When the sleep rhythm is disturbed, either by excess or reduction, it can cause migraine attacks upon awakening. Half of migraine sufferers have difficulty getting to sleep or getting uninterrupted sleep.
In addition, there are all the noises we are hearing. Nice way to start the day, isn’t it? This is how migraine sufferers feel many mornings.
